Outthink
OUTTHINK
Brief: Address the gender stereotypes in software engineering with a campaign event hosted by IBM.
Solution: Outthink is IBM's international coding competition for women, aimed to celebrate and unite female coders of past, present, and future generation.
For the visual language, I focused on developing a type that celebrated both unity and individuality. I chose to convey empowerment by pushing the type to the edges of the layout, rather than depending on a gendered color like pink. I opted out of using complicated coding language as graphic element, as they may feel foreign and intimidating for women interested in coding. Instead I adopted the old horizontal blinking cursor as part of the visual language.
